Public Health and Rehabilitation Research, a division in DEFACTUM, aims to create conditions for citizens with disabilities to regain functioning and participation in the community. Optimal rehabilitation is ensured by collaborations across sectors and disciplines including experience and knowledge from citizens, practice, research, and policy-makers.

In the Public Health and Rehabilitation Research division we emphasise tailored knowledge dissemination at universities, in institutions, and organisations at all levels. Furthermore, our research focuses on functioning based on a biopsycosocial framework in community-based and vocational rehabilitation.

Among the main tasks are:

  • Vocational rehabilitation
  • Citizen involvement
  • Goal setting
  • Identification of needs
  • Interdiciplinary activities
  • Continuity in rehabilitation efforts
  • Intervention
